The AccelePort EPC/X Family supports multi-user and remote access environments. Available for PCI platforms, the AccelePort EPC/X Family supports up to 224 ports per slot and a thousand-plus ports per host system. Each system includes an intelligent RISC-based host adapter card plus one or more EPC/CON-16 concentrators that can be daisy-chained at distances up to 1000 feet (300 meters) from the host or remotely connected via several options - with no loss of performance. A fiber optic kit allows workgroups to be placed up to 1.25 miles (2 km) apart. By using synchronous modems, multiplexers (MUX) or other options concentrators can be located anywhere in the world. The administrator can enjoy a seamless remote access solution from the system while delivering “local” performance to each remote user.
