We would like to inform you that Moxa is going to update Moxa Industrial Linux to v1.4 for the Moxa UC Series computers and the DA-662C-16-LX (GLB) on August 22, 2025.

Please review the details below to determine how these changes will affect your products and/or operations.

What will change for Moxa Industrial Linux 1.4?

• Includes the latest security patches.
• EN 18031-1 (RED) compliant wireless cybersecurity. For devices upgraded from previous firmware, Moxa Industrial Linux (MIL) will retain the original settings but provides the ?mx-red-migrate? tool to ensure compliance with EN 18031-1 wireless cybersecurity requirements by implementing the following changes:
  • Adds the password quality configure file.
  • Modifies the SSH configuration.
  • Adds fail2ban support.
  • Enforces a password change on first login.
  • Regenerates the SSH key on first login.
  • Adopts the pam_tally2 mechanism.

• Upgrades the Linux kernel from 4.4.0 to 5.10.0 for DA-662C-16-LX (GLB).
• Removes the bootloader's 2 GB file size limitation for installing system images via the TFTP server for DA-662C-16-LX (GLB).
  To support system images exceeding 4 GB, it is necessary to use a TFTP server that accommodates larger files. We recommend using the SolarWinds TFTP server, which Moxa has tested and approved.
• Uses HTTPS communication for Debian source in /etc/apt/sources.list

• The watchdog function is enabled by default for the DA-662C-16-LX (GLB).
• Supports only re-flashing image upgrades for the DA-662C-16-LX (GLB)?APT upgrades are not supported.
