We would like to inform you that Moxa is going to make changes to ThingsPro Edge 2.2.1 for the UC-8100A-ME-T Series and UC-8200 Series.
These changes will be implemented by January 25, 2022.
Please review the details below to determine how these changes will affect your products and/or operations.
The ThingsPro Edge 2.2.1-3369 will now support the UC-8100A-ME-T Series and UC-8200 Series.

What will change?
The ThingsPro Edge 2.2.1-3369 will now support the UC-8100A-ME-T Series and UC-8200 Series.
New features for ThingsPro Edge 2.2.1 include:
- A restoration function for Azure IoT Edge (AIG Series only).
- Device provisioning with X.509 certificate via Azure IoT Edge (AIG Series only).
- A NAT (Network Address Translation) function for connected devices so that they can access the Internet.
- Supports connecting an Azure IoT Edge device, acting as a transparent gateway, to the Azure IoT Device for communicating with the Azure IoT Hub.
- Adds bulk data upload to Sparkplug in Store and Forward.
- Command-line functions for retrieving status and traffic logs of the Modbus Master. For additional information on the command-line functions, visit https://thingspro-edge.moxa.online/v2.2.0/usermanuals/southbound_services/modbus.html.
- Tag Overview monitors real-time values of tags and writes values into writable tags.
- A firewall to ensure secure connectivity based on pre-defined rules for inbound traffic.
- Certificate Center to present service certificates, including the trusted root CA (Certificate Authority).
Furthermore, the following issues were fixed:
- MQTT TLS version could not be configured as 1.0.
- Incorrect WAN Interface information displayed in the System Overview.
- Conversion of the maximum value of uint64/ int64 in the register was not precise.
- Same topic name could be created for different Modbus interfaces.
- Some memory tags would be missed by MQTT Broker if the Overview page was closed while the pull operation was in progress.
- Selected tags in a message could not be sent out simultaneously within a given send-out-threshold.
Also, note these enhancements to ThingsPro Edge 2.2.1:
- Upgrades Azure IoT Edge runtime environment to v1.1.4.
- Allows manual upgrade/downgrade of Azure IoT Edge runtime environment.
- Allows the update/upgrade of Debian packages.
- Improves the upgrade mechanism to ensure success.
- Adds more options to the time zone selection.
